Being Grateful is to be HAPPY

Want to take five minutes with me and just write without worrying if it’s just right or not. Here’s how we do it:

1. Write for 5 minutes flat with no editing, tweaking or self critiquing.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in {you can grab the button code in my right side bar}
3. Go and tell the person who linked up before you what their words meant to you. Every writer longs to feel heard.
OK, are you ready? Give me your best five minutes for the prompt:

Grateful…

Learning to be GRATEFUL is something that gradually sinks into your soul...you slowly begin to realize the blessings you have....and that your blessings are often like no one elses.

I am GRATEFUL for the little boy in my life, who just this morning told me he wanted to see Yogi Bear on his trip to Colorado this week.

My Grandson

I am GRATEFUL for the innocence of children.  Who are full of love and wonder, and who love everyone, regardless of their circumstance in life or past wrongs.  They just wake up every morning and LOVE to the fullest.

My Granddaughter and I

Once you learn how to be GRATEFUL the world is a wonder every day.  Take some time today and think of everything in your life that you can to be grateful, even if it seems trivial.  It is bound to bring a smile to your face.

The common theme I've seen among the happiest people I know, is that they are the most grateful for everything in their lives.   Whether your child is sick or well, your house is clean or dirty, your car is running or is going to cost $1200 to fix, stop, BREATHE, and realize that in this moment, you are here, you are alive, you have the ability to bless others today , and BE GRATEFUL!!

STOP

My Daughters :)

P.S.  I took longer than five minutes because in this life that I am so GRATEFUL for....being interrupted by my 5 year old grandson who came and talked to me and put his fingers on the keyboard, and wanted to show me a teapot he found while digging through his MiMi's treasures :)  My oldest daughter called and told me about a test she just had to take at the local Junior College which will determine what Math class she takes in the fall semester.  My oldest daughter is a single mother, my grandson is her son.  I am GRATEFUL for them both each and every day, and for my youngest daughter who lets me keep my granddaughter every day as well and who is currently napping on the couch while I try to eek out a moment to write a blog!!  Thank you dear reader for letting me share these tiny moments in my life with you today!!

  4. Oh Deborah this has been the highlight of my day today, listening to how he JUST KNOWS that they will see Yogi Bear. He told me that we could find Yogi Bear near the people, because he likes people. He also said that his mother needed to fix him a basket of goodies, because he likes to eat!! :) It has truly got to be one of the cutest things I have ever heard!!

  5. Apparently only half of my commnent posted....they are staying at Estes Park in Colorado, and my daughter googled that plus Yogi Bear today and coincidentally they a park there named Jellystone :) They have a person who dresses up as Yogi Bear each day who raises and lowers the flag, morning and evening. My daughter called and they said for her to bring my little grandson by to their Ranger Station and he could talk to him and have his picture made with him. I CANNOT WAIT to hear of his reaction, which I am pretty positive will be PURE GLEE!! I am sure I will post photos when they get back home next weekend!! :) Thank you so much Deborah for stopping by!! :) :)
