My Morning!!

There are just some days where I have to laugh at the craziness....which is of course pretty much every day with me!!

Let me preface this with the story of what happened the other day:

Sooo my daughter and I were shopping in the next town over and for some reason I was already having a stressful day so I said, let's drive through McDonald's (now I'm kind of wishing we would have just driven through the store haha) and I want to get a Mocha Frappe....when I'm stressed it's my favorite!!  So we order, THREE DRINKS....that's all...and the little girl on the other end takes our order over the loudspeaker and never ever comes back.  So we pull up.  And we wait...and we wait...and finally the line moves and we come to the window.  The cashier stuck her hand out the window and never told us an amount and my daughter handed her my debit card without really thinking about it ( I hate it when cashiers do that...generally I don't just hand them my card unless I have a total) so she rings it up, hands her my card and a receipt.  Jessica looks down at the receipt and realizes she just charged us for someone else's meal and charged us over $14.00 as well when all we ordered was three drinks.  I was really pissed at this point.  So Jessica knocks on the little window, she comes back, she tells her what happened...she tries to say well maybe someone drove off etc...no one drove off she just isn't good at what she does....so she had to call the manager.....in the meantime there are stacks and stacks of cars lining up behind us.  So he says he's sorry and what did we order....then I'm thinking maybe he will just give us the drinks....and then he asks us again what we ordered.......and then AGAIN....and then rings up the new amount on my debit card as well.  At this point I am pretty livid.  All I wanted was A DANG FRAPPE

.....and then he hands us our drinks and says if the refund doesn't show up on my card to come back and he will just give me cash back.  Yes, because I WANT TO COME BACK HERE.....So my simple trip to Mickey D's cost me $21.00 ....and then we were about two blocks away and I took a sip of my much longed for Frappe and it wasn't done right!!  OMG....their machine must not have been working right and it was like pure liquid.  It was not how it was supposed to be, it was gross....I didn't even drink it...I was so disappointed...I nearly cried.  And then it also took almost three days to have the money refunded to my debit card, insult added to injury LOL...

So that brings me to today's story.

When I pick up my granddaughter in the mornings I pass by a Sonic.  They have great little frozen frappe's as well.  I thought, well dang it I am going to treat myself to one this morning, and after all my little granddaughter thinks it's great fun to steal sips of mine, she loves them almost as much as me....and EVERY 3 year old needs to be drinking those haha!!

I did a U Turn and there was a big truck parked on the side of the road next to the entrance of the Sonic.  There was a truck pulling out of the Sonic driveway.  So I came around the side of the big truck, and as I got close to the driveway a 2 liter of Pepsi that I had just purchased at the grocery store rolled off the front seat and I tried to catch it.....I was turning in as I did that..I was also saying....accckkkkkkk....and then as I was reaching to grab the Pepsi I hit my windshield wipers somehow and they came on so I am driving into the Sonic driveway screaming and looking crazy and my windshield wipers are going in completely dry weather.  I can only imagine what I must have looked like to the guy pulling out.  I started laughing.  I really hope it wasn't anyone I knew.  There was a time in my life where I always thought I looked "hot" in my car....

now pretty much I just resemble a crazy person.

I had bought my little granddaughter a candy bar at the grocery store.  She asked if she could have a piece while we were waiting in the drive through line.  I gave her a tiny piece and she ate it just fine.  She asked for another, I gave her some more.  I turn around to look at her and she is holding a melting square squishing in her hands and it is ALL OVER her whole face.....naturally.....I should have known better lolol I have been a grandma for way too long to have given her a bigger piece of chocolate haha.

I place my order for once again, THREE THINGS.  My Mocha Caramel Java chiller, a small apple juice box for Adleigh, and some tater tots.  We pull up and we wait...and we wait...they hand me her drink....they hand me the tots....and eventually another woman comes to the window and says:
I'M SORRY....OUR MACHINE IS BROKEN THAT MAKES JAVA CHILLERS AND I WILL HAVE TO GIVE YOU YOUR MONEY BACK.

REALLY??

Is there some new law somewhere that says that I can never again have one??

So they gave me a coke, and I came home.

Now here I sit....still longing for the frosty goodness of a frozen coffee drink.......maybe one day.....maybe when I'm on vacation and far far away from home my dreams will come trueeeeeee!!

Or maybe I should just stick with Starbucks!!

A Tisket....A Tasket.....and a PICNIC BASKET :)

Saturday my daughter Jessica needed to go to the local Junior College to take an exam in the "testing center" for her Government Class.  They have an absolutely beautiful campus there so I begged her to let us tag along and have a picnic below all the beautiful oak trees and in the green grass!!  :)  It was a wonderful afternoon!!

Fires, A Gallon of Milk....and basically "A Day in My Life"

My daughter reminded me of this story the other day as we were driving past the place where it occurred.  I started laughing when she mentioned it, and I thought I had better share the story on here as well :)

It is a pretty rare occassion that I ever get to go to the grocery store by myself.  Last year I enjoyed a totally uneventful trip to a grocery store I don't usually go to, and took a completely out of the way route home as well.  Because I took the "road less traveled", which is indeed a very rural route road winding through the hills and trees of backwoods East Texas, I was out in the middle of nowhere where there are only one or two houses every mile or so.

I was driving along and saw smoke billowing across the road in front of me.  As I drove up closer, I could see that the grass was on fire on the side of the road.  This is an alarming sight when it's next to acres and acres of timber that if a fire were to spread to would cause just sooo much damage.

I don't remember now if my cell phone was dead or I just didn't have service out there....both are completely possible!!  I had no way to call the fire department, so I had to resort to using what I had.

A GALLON OF MILK

I parked my Jeep a little bit away, walked down the road carrying my gallon of milk, and walked along and poured it along the edges of the fire hoping to wet it down enough to keep it from spreading any further!!

I felt like a complete idiot, but really really hoped it was doing some good!!

Once I ran out of milk I drove a couple of more miles until I could find a home where someone was actually AT HOME and had them call the Volunteer Fire Department!!

They must have managed to get the fire out since I never heard of any wildfires out in that direction!!

It just goes to show, you never know what  a gallon of milk can accomplish!!

Crazy But Fun Friday

Yesterday was such a crazy day, FUN, but crazy.

It started out with me wanting to take Payton to this event called WINGS OVER TYLER.  I knooowww that I read somewhere that it was June 3, 2011.  They advertisement that I read somewhere online said that there would be all sorts of "fly ins" and "aerial acrobatics" etc.  This would be something that Payton would LOOOVE.  I told him about it on Monday, and he asked me every day if it was Friday yet.  It was supposed to start at 1:00 p.m.

Of course, you have to realize, I did WONDER whyyyy are they having this on a FRIDAY??  But hey, I can go and I can take Payton, lol too bad a lot of other people will have to miss it haha.  Soooo after a bunch of running around, and meeting his mother to get the lawn chairs out of her SUV (where they stay since we have a T Ball game to attend every Friday night), and then a trip to Walgreens to get another memory card for the camera, we finally drove up to the airport in Tyler.

There were about SIX cars in the parking lot.  I first thought, WOW, they are going to be really sad that nobody showed up for their "event"...and then I realized "Silly, you are probably here on the wrong day".

So, we got out and walked up to the lobby door and sure enough on the poster on the door it said...AIR SHOW...JULY 3RD....hahahaha....SOOOOOO needless to say Payton was not happy with me but I still saved the day!!

Our airport in Tyler is also home to the http://www.tylerhamm.com/ Tyler Historical Aviation Museum.

I took him there when he was about 2 1/2, but now he is old enough to REALLY enjoy walking around and seeing all of the exhibits.  Since we were virtually the ONLY visitors in it, we were able to get a one on one tour of all of the military aircraft outside.  That little boy was in HEAVEN let me tell you!!

SITTING IN A COCKPIT, PLAYING WITH ALL OF THE SWITCHES!!

Our new friend Jerry was very nice and was so patient with Payton

He was showing Payton where the guns used to be mounted

The Mewbourne Oil plane taking off....Payton thought it was the coolest to watch it go down the runway and then fly up in the air!!

Getting to operate the Flight Simulator

Learning How To Operate the Wings!!

Taking Off Down the Runway

I know this photo is blurry, but the best I can show of how cool the background is..it really looks like you are flying!!

"Flying" into Dallas and getting ready to land his plane at Love Field

His sweet "Flight Instructor".  Payton got a set of Gold Wings, a Certificate, and a poem about Percy and never giving up.  It was an AWESOME DAY!!

After we left there we stopped by and saw Jackie and Adleigh and had the bright idea to take them shopping at a really cool new store I found the other day.  Taking two little preschoolers shopping anywhere is not always a fun idea!!  I did end up with a new T Shirt, a new purse, and a new little wallet.  Expensive trip, but fun anyway!!

Then to end the day I had to quick dress Payton and take him down to his T Ball game where we were later joined by his Mom and Ira.  They got there of course right as the game was starting.  Great game and we all went out to eat afterward and I think I finally fell in bed exhausted last night a little after midnight.  The first words out of Payton's mouth this morning to me were MiMi, when is the airshow???

Another "Ducky" Day!!

Today Jackie had another job interview!  To hear the details of this job, I know it's one that is tailor made for her, and I am sure hoping she gets the offer!! :)  Because she had an interview, I drove up to Tyler to babysit Adleigh!!  Her interview was at 12.  My other daughter Jessica has some of the best supervisors in the world, who let her work extra hours during the week to take off early on Thursday and Friday during T Ball season so it's easy to get to Patyon's practice and games.  Because of that, she was off by 1 today, and met us at Jackie's house :)

I have to mention as well the story about Jackie's hubby Cody.  He is such a prankster, and I swear, if he does what he did today again he may meet an untimely ending haha.  He found out that there is an app for the iphone where you can make your number look like someone elses and call someone with that number.  He just sooooo happened to choose my phone number to call Jackie with.  There is noooo way he could have known this....(."technically" it wasn't him who called Jackie, but his cousin who works with him).  anyway....right when they were calling Jackie I had just gone into the bathroom.  When Jackie saw that it was my number calling her, she was being funny and walking up to the outside of the bathroom door, thinking I was calling her from the bathroom...and saying...CAN I HELP YOU??  YES MA'AM...ARE YOU HAVING PROBLEMS??  And then she realized there was a male voice on the phone...and he was saying...hey...I found this phone, and I want to return it to you...I've seen your photos, you are very pretty...can we meet for lunch and I can give you this phone back??  Or can I just come to your house, if you tell me where you live I will bring it to you.....soooo Jackie starts flipping out...I come out of the bathroom and she says MOM...SOMEONE SAYS THEY FOUND YOUR PHONE...which I was like whaaaaa?? My phone is in my purse....and I pulled it out...then her face turned white.......I guess that guy hung up and her husband called her laughing and said he was glad she wouldn't meet strange men for lunch etc....I think we all wanted to kill him at that point....that was soooo creepy!!  My son-in-law...haha think I'm gonna have to whack him with something the next time I see him :)

Jackie fixed us lunch and we decided to take both of the kids to feed the ducks at UT Tyler.  Payton was pretty sad that he missed feeding the ducks the last time we had gone!!  UT Tyler is a beautiful campus.
We had such a fun time...and I swear...before it was all over all of us were chunking bread at each other's heads....us Dison girls just can't leave well enough alone.....ohhhh a day in my life....this is why I share it with everyone....haha....you just wouldn't believe it unless you were here...and this is the next best thing!!

you should have seen the two arguing over who carried what bread...ahhhh kids...

had to of course stop and play at the metal turtle

Helloooooooo

Trying and Trying to coax the ducks to come to him

Jessica came over straight from work...she had no idea when she got dressed this morning she would be walking next to a lake in a skirt and heels

One of my most favorite photos EVER!!

My favorite people!! <3
